Storytime with Chione
Sharing musical stories throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota has become a staple for the Chione Quintet. Our program representing the Mankato Symphony Orchestra kick started Story Time with Chione which was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Chione continues to travel to libraries throughout Greater Minnesota sharing children's stories with live music and narration. These will all be free events!
Programs have included stories such as Peter and the Wolf, One Hen, Hansel and Gretel, The Unhappy Aardvark and The Swan the Pike and the Crab. Chione aims to engage students in active listening paired with activities such as theme recognition using American Sign Language and moving along to the beat.
Story time programs have been enjoyed by ALL ages, from babies to children at heart. The pairing of music and stories is exciting for anyone and a memory that will last!
